Organic Tonkatsu Sauce - 175g

Sennari’s artisanal organic tonkatsu sauce is a traditional Japanese condiment with a rich balance of sweet, tangy, and lightly vinegary flavours. Often described as a cross between ketchup and Worcestershire sauce, it has a smooth, creamy texture and a deep savoury sweetness.

In Japan, tonkatsu sauce is most famously served with tonkatsu—crispy breaded pork cutlets—from which it takes its name. It also pairs beautifully with other breaded or grilled meats, such as chicken katsu, as well as chips and other fried foods, making it an excellent dipping sauce.

Inspired by the popularity of imported English Worcestershire sauce in the early 19th century, this distinctly Japanese version was first developed in 1948. Since then, it has become an essential accompaniment to beloved street-food dishes such as okonomiyaki (savoury pancakes) and takoyaki (battered octopus balls).

Crafted in the traditional Japanese style, Sennari’s tonkatsu sauce is made with carefully selected organic ingredients, including rice vinegar, soy sauce, tomato, onion, apple vinegar, carrot, garlic, and ginger. The result is a rich, smooth sauce with a perfect balance of sweetness, tanginess, and savoury depth.

Perfect for dipping, drizzling, or adding depth to stocks, marinades, and sauces, tonkatsu sauce is a versatile staple in Japanese cooking.
